Medically the chain of events which cause migraine are unclear but home remedies for migraine very effectively alleviate the condition and are also extremely helpful in preventing its reoccurrences. Migraine is a type of headache, the only difference is that it occurs mostly in one side of the brain and accompanies other symptoms which are not evident during normal headache. Take crusts of few lemons and let them dry in the sun, later grind them and form a paste by adding few drops of water. Apply this paste on the forehead. Vegetable juices are also one of the effective home remedies for migraine. Consuming 300 ml of carrot juice with 200 ml of spinach juice everyday prevents as well as relieves migraine. One can also mix 300 ml of carrot juice with 100 ml each of spinach and beetroot juices to make 500 ml of vegetable juice mixture to consume in one day for effective alleviation of pain. Take dried ginger powder and turmeric powder in equal and sufficient quantities, add milk to form a thick paste. Apply this paste on the forehead, one can also apply this paste on the affected part of the head if that area is bald. Let this paste stay for 30 minutes and later wash it off with cold water. Take a towel and soak it in the water, wring it to let the excess water flow out, keep this towel in freezer for 10 minutes and later take it out and cover the head and eyes with it. People who have aura before migraine can keep a slice of fresh ginger always with them as and when they experience aura chewing ginger can prevent the attack. Essential oils like lavender and peppermint oil are also used as home remedies for migraine but aromatherapy by essential oils does not work for everyone.

Regular exercises like walking and jogging are very good as these keep digestion healthy and also promote healthy blood flow to all parts of the body.
